Few thoughts about creation

Hello everyone!
My first post and i'm a bit excited.
I decided to open this blog in order to share my love for painting, some of my works, art related subjects and even some painting tips.
I'll hope that you'll enjoy!

Lets begin at one of the most basic definitions in art -

Creation

"The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart."
Helen Keller

Art is all about creating "something out of nothing":
A sculptor creates a beautiful statue out of a piece of stone, a choreograph produce a dance out of movements and a painter conceive a painting on a blank paper.
But do we really create "something out of nothing"? What is this "nothing"?
Helen Keller's definition is simple and accurate - The sculptor can imagine the statue in his mind, long before he actually sculpt it. The choreographer can feel the dance in this body before he even assembles the first step, and the painter can see the painting in his mind before even touching the brush.
Creation comes from us, from our mind and soul, from the most deep and profound part of who we are. Each creation is our own, is unique and there's nothing like it. Even a master of reproductions is not  simply "copying" an artwork, but trying to bring into his own work the uniqueness of the piece, as he treasured it in his mind.
Artists spend so many hours thinking, planning, working, dreaming of their masterpieces, their creations.
I try to think about each part of my life as my creation -
The food I eat, the house i'm living in, my relationship with my wife, my kids...
I try to respect every thing as my own unique creation, just like I treat my art.
I believe that we creates our lives, and most important, our happiness. We must take responsibility over our choices, artistic or life concerning. Only that way great masterpieces comes to life.

I'm inviting you to join me on my blog,
Yours, Sefer
